About the team: We are a family team, the 2 oldest now going to compete 2nd year in FLL in Košice.

Assignment: Shopping assistant

The robot uses 2 color sensors in reflected light mode to follow the line and to see where to stop,
when it stops the first time it then slowly moves ahead until it detects a red color,
and then it looks at the colors of the items with a third color sensor until it detects the right color
(desired item is specified at the beginning by a button press) and "grabs" the item and gets on the line and goes back home.
The robot uses the gyrosensor to more precisely turn while navigating the store.

Lego EV3 Classroom graphical programming environment was used to write the program.

1. Great job! Your robot is capable of doing some shopping, what a useful robot! One small advice from me would be to have a bit more careful robot especially when manipulating with the goods found in the store. When buying an apple, we would like to keep chocolate at its original location so that other customers will not be unhappy they did not get their favourite chocolate! Maybe the robot could have turned the other direction, or even better, first drag its item back, and turn only when far from other goods and having enough space for turning. In each case, congratulations, your solution is very exciting! Good luck with further tasks!

2. You gain 3 points. I like that you created a video with more purchases.

3. In the beginning, it is not clear from the video how you were instructing the robot what goods you want. Further, the robot left quite a mess behind in the store. Perhaps it would have liked a better placement in the store. The robot probably worked pretty well, but everything in the video was sped up so it was impossible to check. It's fine to speed up, for example, moving along a line where nothing is happening, but if you're inputting information, it would be nice for us as judges to see that clearly and be able to judge whether the robot is really doing what it was supposed to do.
It's great that you recorded multiple tests, so you've verified the robot's action for different tasks.
I also want to acknowledge the fact that you have included an explanation of how the robot works at the end. For future tasks, I recommend that you think about such a verbal description a bit in advance. Alternatively, more than one member can be involved, depending on who did what, so they can introduce it.
